What is WM30T?

(Wear Me 30 Times)

WearMe30Times is a slow-fashion initiative co-created by Maakola, a sustainable fashion brand from Ghana, and Genuine Way, a Swiss tech provider focused on supporting the “conscious consumption” movement through the use of blockchain technology.

In 2016, climate activist Livia Firth successfully launched the #30Wears campaign, an initiative aimed at increasing consumers' awareness towards the problem of waste relating to the fashion industry.

We are witnessing a new shift from fast to slow fashion and this project is about changing the way we approach owning clothes. It’s about thinking of your clothes as an investment rather than something disposable.

The WearMe30Times campaign is relaunching this message once again in 2020 by adding an extra-layer of technology & gamification that will allow us to truly engage with conscious consumers.

How Does It Work?

Genuine Way is developing a native-mobile experience designed to allow consumers to digitally register each single use of a fashion item.

After scanning the WM30T code on any piece of clothing, the consumer is sent to an online interface that enables him to do the following:

This interface is to be directly connected to any fashion item through a dedicated qr-code. Any brand can participate in the campaign by requesting the qr-code from Genuine Way and taking part is free of charge.
